Epic Training

From March through September of 2018 I took a special six month position as a Credentialed Trainer for the Clindoc application of the Epic electronic health record.  This involved a month of training and practice to first become an Epic Clindoc Credentialed Trainer.  For the next two months leading up to the “Go Live” date I taught 2-3 classes a day to the disciplines of Nursing, Inpatient Tech, Residential Tech, Case Management, Spiritual Care, Activity Therapy, Ward Clerk, Nursing Manager, and Quality.  Every discipline also had to attend a separate testing session which often included additional individual review sessions. 

I taught a total of over 60 classes.  The experience taught me about different learning styles, the importance of patience, and the skill of dealing with unexpected obstacles.
